Glenn Phillips is a wicket-keeper batsman who plays a very aggressive brand of cricket. To show Glenn Phillips’ firepower, in the 2016 U-19 World Cup he scored his runs at a strike rate of 117, the highest out of batsmen to have scored over 125 runs. To put this into context, the next highest was 107. Phillips holds a very impressive record: he is the first Kiwi batsman to have scored centuries in all three formats in one season.
Despite his young age, Phillips first featured for New Zealand’s international team when he was 20 but has had an inconsistent start to his international career. Picked in their T20I team on numerous occasions (he is mainly seen as a white ball specialist), Glenn Phillips has been rather hit and miss. Phillips was bought by the Jamaica Tallawahs for the 2018 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and he hit a sublime fifty for them in just his third match.
